While the results were mixed, we can see Clear Linux easily has the most green (wins) while Scientific Linux 7.2 had the most red (losses). This latest round of results isn't too surprising compared to our other recent comparisons. Scientific Linux 7.2 tends to be slower than other modern non-LTS/enterprise distributions due to the older kernel, older GCC compiler, and more conservative settings. Meanwhile, Clear Linux continues to drive on the performance front with new innovations, aggressive defaults, and other improvements done by the team at Intel's Open-Source Technology Center.
